Music Theory Resources in ARMA
Music Theory is an important part of ARMA, and it is represented by both survey articles on the topic and also articles on genres and forms. The survey articles cover important concepts in the context of various styles and complement the articles on historic trend. A similarly focused perspective is in the articles about genres and forms, with emphases on specific works (and links to music in ARMA). Even more focused discussions occur in the commentaries on selected works include analytic discussions, sometimes accompanied by useful tables or other supporting material. In addition, when your students encounter terminology specific to music theory, they may find ARMA's Glossary to be a useful starting point for your teaching.
