Resources on Sonatas in ARMA

ARMA includes a rich and varied selection of sonatas from the seventeenth through twentieth centuries well suited for music history and music theory courses. Important discussions of the sonata are part of the articles on Genre & Form for the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Twentieth Century styles. In addition, the commentaries on several of these pieces offer explore significant features of signicant works. As with other parts of ARMA, when your students encounter terminology specific to chamber music, they may find ARMA's Glossary to be a useful starting point.
