Resources on Symphonies in ARMA
The symphony is well represented in ARMA by full scores of important works from eighteenth through the twentieth centuries. As with other genres the commentaries on several of these works are useful, as is Matteo Magarotto's article on The Hero's Journey: Beethoven's Symphony no. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 55, Eroica. When your students encounter terminology specific to symphonic music, they may find ARMA's Glossary to be a useful starting point.
